About Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport (NAG), Nagpur

This international airport caters to Nagpur, a city in the state of Maharashtra. It was named after Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, who was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.

The Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport (NAG) was first custom-built during World War I. During World War II, the NAG airport was utilized as a staging base. The total area covered by the NAG airport is about 1460 acres. Also, it is the hub to AFS Nagpur of the Indian Air Force.
