Referred to as the “Winter Home Of Badrivishal”, the Narsingh Devta Temple in Joshimath is dedicated to the fourth avatar of the Lord Vishnu which is in the form of half man and half lion. Now at the present time, when the Badrinath Temple gets covered in snow, the idols are brought down to the Narsingha Temple and are worshipped here for 6 months.
