This divine place was founded in 1962 by Maharaj Neem Karoli Baba. Maharaj Ji wanted to build an ashram here for a long time since 1942 along with Shri Poornanand. Then later in 1962, his wish came true, and a temple was built here dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is particularly famous for its Kainchi Fair, which is held annually in July. Since the saint and spiritual leader, Neem Karoli Baba has been said to have come to this spot to meditate, the temple has become a popular pilgrimage spot. After that, many kirtans, bhajans, and Bhandara started here and devotees come here to find peace and calm and offer their prayers to Neem Karoli Baba.
The architecture of Kainchi Dham is simple yet very interesting. The temple is made up of stones, mud, and wood and is shaped like a pyramid. Inside the temple, there is a small shrine dedicated to Neem Karoli Baba. The temple also has two large bells that are rung during the pujas.
