It is also believed that the Pandavas built the temple during the Mahabharata period and used it as a place of worship. It houses a number of ancient sculptures and idols. It is believed that a sacred yajna was performed at the temple when the Pandavas were in exile. 

This temple is related to the Lakshagrah of Pandavas which was built to kill them by Duryodhana. There is also a secret cave Dhundhi Odaari near the temple which was a Pandavas’ hiding place. Apart from this, there is a very unique and beautiful Shiva Linga which reflects like a mirror when the water pours on it. One can easily see themselves in the linga.

The Lakhamandal Temple is a beautiful structure built in the traditional Indian style with intricate designs and carvings. The temple is made up of several large and small shrines and has a large central hall which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The temple also has several small and large courtyards, a large pond and a number of other structures. The walls of the temple are decorated with beautiful carvings depicting Hindu gods and goddesses. The entrance to the temple is marked by a majestic stone gateway, and the main shrine is crowned with a dome-shaped Shikhar.
