As scientists say, this new variant may be more infectious and transmissible as compared to other variants.

UAE Flight News – Dubai Travel Ban For Unvaccinated Citizens

As soon as we enter 2022, the UAE announces a travel ban on unvaccinated citizens with a requirement to obtain a booster dose for the fully vaccinated ones. The instalment of this new rule comes after concerns about the new Omicron variant that has recently been identified in many parts of the world. As per the orders, the following Dubai travel restrictions will be implemented from January 10, 2022. However, the India to Dubai travel for the following categories will be permitted. 

  1. Travellers visiting for medical and treatment objectives
  2. Travellers who are medically excused from taking the vaccine
  3. Humanitarian Cases

Dubai Travel Restrictions As Of January 1, 2022

India to UAE flight news today – International travel from India to UAE is open but with a series of Dubai travel restrictions and guidelines effective from January 1, 2022, which are as follows:

  • Travellers taking UAE flights or transiting through it are required to submit their negative RT/PCR test report issued within 48 hours. 
  • All Indian international flight travellers must take a Rapid Antigen test with a QR Code at least 6 hours before the scheduled departure. 
  • Residents must provide an ICA approval. However, if you hold a Dubai residence visa and is travelling from specific countries like India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, etc, GDRFA approval is mandatory.  
  • Travellers must carry a fully vaccinated WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccine certificate before taking UAE flights. To travel around different cities and areas in UAE, one must keep it along for a hassle-free entry into important tourist landmarks of the UAE. Also remember, that the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine must be taken at least 14 days before the departure. 

Furthermore, the authorities have also introduced some limited categories that are free from Dubai travel restrictions. Some of these include UAE nationals, staff of diplomatic missions, first-degree relatives of UAE nationals, etc. These categorised travellers must provide their negative Covid-19 test report taken no later than 2 days before departure in addition to the negative rapid PCR test that was conducted at the airport. The following travellers are also required to go through the 10-day quarantine with a PCR test on the last day. The UAE citizens are banned from travelling to specific countries like Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, etc unless there’s an emergency case or any kind of official documentation.

As noted above, the UAE authorities restrain entry from the higher-risk countries and introduce new laws and changes to manage the number of Dubai corona cases. As per the UAE flight news, there are certain criteria that India to Dubai flights must meet before flying between the two countries. 

  • Pre-Departure India to UAE Flights Testing

All the India to Dubai flight passengers must take the Covid-19 PCR test 48 hours before the scheduled arrival in the UAE. The submitted report must be from the approved laboratory either of India or UAE and must include a QR code. Taking the high number of Dubai covid cases into consideration, the UAE authorities also mandates passengers to get a negative rapid PCR test done 6 hours before departure. 

  • Post-Arrival UAE India Flights Testing

Travellers must carry both their negative PCR test results and will be asked to show them on the arrival. The India UAE flight passengers will be required to take a rapid PCR test on arrival. If tested negative, you’ll be allowed to explore the city further and make the most of your Dubai trip in 2022. 

  • Quarantine

Quarantine is not applicable to travellers who are tested negative at the times of both departure and arrival. However, if tested positive, the passengers will be asked to quarantine as per the fresh UAE covid guidelines. The non-vaccinated travellers in Abu Dhabi are required to quarantine for at least 10 days and can only end the quarantine if the PCR test on the 9th day results negative.
