Switzerland Entry Requirements 

Starting from Dec 20, 2021, Travellers entering Switzerland must complete an entry form before 48 hours of their entry into this Swiss country. Whether you are vaccinated or not, recovered from Covid or not, it is mandatory for every individual to fill this entry form. 

This electronic entry form can be filled from anywhere, and once it is done, you’ll be sent an email for confirmation with a QR code. Passengers must keep this QR code handy to easily show whenever required while inspection before entering Switzerland. The information on the entry form should be true, and any willful dishonesty can lead you to the cancellation of your entry and a fine. 

Exempted Individuals From Filling The Switzerland Entry Form

• Travellers passing through Switzerland with no stopover 
• Ones who transport goods across the Switzerland borders 
• Ones travelling as a foreign national with a G permit
• Ones travelling as cross-border commuters for a course of their work 
• Ones travelling from Switzerland’s border areas such as some regions of Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and Liechtenstein 

Switzerland Covid Test Requirements 

The Omicron Variant seems to be spreading faster than we can control it, and the Swiss appear to be doing little to manage the same. The Swiss government has restricted travel to countries known to be infected with the Covid-19, which includes many areas of southeast Asia and central Africa. However, this is not an absolute ban on all travel, but rather a warning on certain regions that could pose more risk than others.

According to Switzerland travel news, every traveller is required to show their negative RT-PCR report taken within the last 72 hours. This provision is applicable to both fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals, regardless of the country they enter from.

Moreover, an additional PCR or rapid antigen test will be conducted between your 4th to 7th day in Switzerland. Apart from that, every traveller is required to abide by local restrictions on private and public gatherings. The Covid-19 vaccination certificate should be carried everywhere while exploring the country like museums, cafes, restaurants, and other Switzerland tourist places. 

Please note that false declarations on getting vaccinated or Covid-19 recovery status can lead to a serious offence under Switzerland criminal law. Also, negligence of test reports at the time of arrival or second test may result in a serious fine. 

Exempted Individuals From Covid Test Requirements 

• Individuals under 16 years of age
• The ones who are medically exempted due to certain conditions
• The ones who have been issued a medical certificate and is being exempted by the doctors. 

Switzerland Quarantine Requirements 

The Swiss government has announced no specific quarantine requirements till the present and has shortened the contact-quarantine period to 5 days from 10. A new set of Switzerland travel restrictions might come into force with a travel ban from some specific countries that are under higher risks of the variant. 

The individuals who work in the healthcare sector, public security, border controls, and the ones who re-entered the country within 24 hours after participating in a social event are exempted from any kind of Switzerland quarantine requirements. 

Approved list of Covid-19 Vaccines For Entry To Switzerland 

With the recent COVID-19 outbreaks in Europe, Switzerland has new entry requirements for travellers. The Swiss authorities have published a list of some WHO-approved vaccines and the individuals entering Switzerland must have at least one of the following vaccines. According to the statement by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), individuals who got vaccinated with a vaccine that is approved by WHO or EMA will only be allowed to take Switzerland flights. Individuals who have been vaccinated with two different types of WHO-approved or EMA-approved vaccines are been approved by the Switzerland government to enter the country.
