With the continuous rise in COVID-19 cases, Air India and IndiGo airlines are offering date or flight number or sector options on domestic tickets with confirmed travel plans till 31st March 2022. The move comes after various state governments imposed a lockdown due to the fear of omicrons. Also, many people are making changes in their travel plans and want to extend their travel dates.
In a tweet, Air India said, “Given the recent uncertainties due to increasing in COVID-19 cases, Air India is offering a free change in date or flight number or sector for all domestic tickets (098) ” before 31st March 2022.”
As per the official statement, IndiGo said, “Due to the increasing number of Omnicron scared, a large number of our customers are changing their travel plans. In response to the needs of the customers, IndiGo is waiving the change fee and offering one free change to all new and existing flight bookings made from 31st January 2022 up to 31st, March 2022. With low demand, we will selectively withdraw some of our flights from service.”
“Where possible, cancellations of flights will be made at least 72 hours in advance and customers will be moved to the next available flight and will also be able to change their journey through the use of ‘Plan B’ on our website,” the statement said.
The official statement said, “As our customer services are currently handling a large volume of calls, we are encouraging our customers to use our digital channels wherever possible. We anticipate that about 20% of our current scheduled operations will be withdrawn from service.”

They have to upload their RT-PCR test report on Air Suvidha Portal. Also, they will self-monitor their health for the next 7 days.
